Adam Fouche is the Interim Associate Vice President for Environmental Safety, Risk, and Resiliency. He oversees the institution’s Environmental Safety Division (environmental affairs, hazardous waste, industrial hygiene and occupational safety), Office of Fire and Life Safety, Office of Emergency Preparedness, and Insurance and Claims Management.
Adam is a 22-year veteran of UGA. He previously served as executive director of the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Insurance and Claims Management and as a deputy chief with the UGA Police Department. He has been involved in emergency response, campus safety, risk management, and coordination of multiple large events and emergency incidents at UGA for over 20 years. Adam has taught first responders across the state in topics including legal issues, emergency medicine, mental health interventions, active shooter response, and leadership. Adam developed and helps instruct the UGA Finance and Administration Mentoring for Operational Success program, an 80-hour leadership development curriculum for Finance and Administration leaders.
Adam holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the UGA Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and a Master of Public Safety Administration from Columbus State University. He is a member of the UGA Institutional Review Board, the Georgia 4H Advisory Committee, and the executive leadership board for Project Safe, Inc. Adam and his wife Macie, a sixth-grade teacher at Commerce Middle School, reside in Nicholson. They have three daughters.
